1. Agreement
By creating an account or using BudgetShape, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What BudgetShape provides
BudgetShape is a personal budgeting tool. It lets users enter income and expenses, organise recurring items, view normalised weekly/fortnightly/monthly amounts, use calendar features and, where available, share budgets with other users.
3. Not financial advice
BudgetShape provides budgeting tools, calculations and factual information based on data you enter. It does not provide personal financial advice, tax advice, credit advice, investment advice or recommendations to acquire, dispose of or vary a financial product. You remain responsible for your financial decisions and for checking the accuracy and suitability of information you enter or rely on.
4. Eligibility and accounts
BudgetShape is intended for adults with legal capacity to enter these Terms. You must provide an email address you are authorised to use and must not attempt to access another person’s account or budget without permission.
5. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter, maintaining access to your email account, reviewing your budget before relying on it, and using the service lawfully. Do not misuse the service, probe it without permission, attempt to bypass access controls, upload unlawful material or interfere with other users.
6. Shared budgets
If you invite another person to a budget, they may be able to view or change information within the permissions provided by BudgetShape. Only invite people you trust. Shared-budget owners and members are responsible for coordinating how the budget is used.
7. Free and paid plans
The solo budgeting experience is currently available on the Free plan. Public paid billing for Pro is not yet open. Before paid subscriptions are offered, BudgetShape will publish the applicable price, billing frequency, renewal/cancellation terms and any additional subscription conditions.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may maintain, improve, change or discontinue features. Where a material change affects paid rights in future, we will handle it consistently with applicable law and any applicable subscription terms.
9. Intellectual property
BudgetShape and its software, branding and site content are owned by or licensed to the operator of BudgetShape. These Terms do not transfer ownership of that intellectual property. You retain ownership of information you enter into your budgets.
10. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service or third parties, or where there is serious misuse. You may stop using BudgetShape and request deletion of your account subject to the account-deletion process.
11. Consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
12. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BudgetShape is not responsible for financial decisions made using the service, errors in information supplied by users, or losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control. Any limitation in these Terms is subject to rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Governing law
These Terms are intended for an Australia-first service and are governed by the laws applicable to the Australian operator of BudgetShape. The final governing State/Territory should be confirmed with the operator’s legal details before launch.
